NailART
Nail becomes the social canvas.

The Problem
Nail art professionals had no dedicated place to showcase their work and be discovered — portfolios were scattered across general social media, with no built-in way for clients to actually book a service off the back of seeing that work.
Why It Mattered
For nail techs, visibility and bookings are two separate problems: Instagram for the portfolio, something else entirely for scheduling clients. Bringing both into one platform meant a professional’s work could convert directly into business.
After completing the first end-to-end prototype, I sought out nail technicians directly (reaching several through LinkedIn) and surveyed them about what they’d actually want from a platform like this. The results pointed to a booking functionality, something outside the original brief.

The Solution
Professionals can build a portfolio to showcase their work, and users can book services directly from a professional’s profile. There’s also an early e-commerce component.

Visual & Localization Design
The brief called for a “girly” aesthetic, and the reference designs leaned heavily toward pink. I kept pink as the base but introduced purple to balance it, keeping the tone the brief asked for without it feeling one-note. The client was Japanese and needed the app localized into Japanese, so I chose a font specifically designed to render Japanese characters correctly, a common failure point when fonts aren’t built with the target alphabet in mind.

Let’s create together.
